Isatis tinctoria tincture
Its Latin name is 'Isatis tinctoria' and it is a biennial steppe plant from Eastern Europe and Asia. The plant can reach a height of one meter to 1.5 meters and is rare in the Netherlands; it mainly grows along the banks of the Waal and the Rhine. The plant blooms from May to June with small, yellow flowers that bloom in loose clusters and which produce fruits. The plant comes here because the seeds have washed up in the direction of the Netherlands via the rivers from Switzerland and Germany.
Generally tonic and has a soothing effect on the airways.
