The Latin name is 'Phellodendron amurense'; is also called 'Phellodendri cortex' and refers to the bark of the Phellodendron amurense tree. The cork tree is a deciduous, fast-growing tree that grows up to 15 meters in height. This tree comes from the Amur river basin located to the northeast of Asia and hence its nickname "amurense".
